Elyria Arts Council has had some water damage from a second floor plumbing problem.  We are missing some ceiling tiles, need a small area of drywall repair, but luckily had a small amount of artwork affected by the moisture.  As of last week, we are up and operating our regular hours and gearing up for our Dec 8 fundraiser from 6-9pm. 
This event will start the voting for the winner of the creative Christmas Tree and Ornament contests.  These are cash votes.  Proceeds benefit the children's programs.
To help EAC with operating and programming costs our member artists have donated raffle prizes, art auction pieces, refreshments, their time. 
This is an evening of fun and an opportunity to shop for those unique one of a kind handmade gifts.

It's time to enter The Elyria Arts Council's Third Annual Creative Christmas Tree Contest and our First Annual Creative Christmas Tree Ornament Contest. All individuals and organizations are encouraged to enter. Details available at the Arts Council at 336 Broad Street, on our Facebook Page, or by calling 440-328-3025.

Then join us on December 8, 2017, from 6 to 9 pm, for a Festive Fundraiser to kick-off the Holiday Shopping Season and the opening of the display and judging of this year's Tree and Ornament entries! Voting is open to all! It will be an evening of food, fellowship, raffles, and a special silent auction featuring wonderful artwork and Limited Edition Prints of the special Bicentennial painting by David Pavlak. All proceeds benefit the Children's Art Program and the Elyria Arts Council.

This year we have two categories. We calling on creative people to submit inventive miniature trees (3 feet high or less) or Collections of miniature tree creations (5 trees maximum with a height no taller than 2 feet. The Trees will be displayed at The Elyria Art Works and voted on by the community. Ribbons will be awarded for 1 st, 2nd and 3rd place enteries, and An Elyria Arts Council's Board Member's choice award. This contest raises money for our Kid's Art Drop-in program and voting will cost one penny per vote. Trees will need to be delivered or set-up at the gallery November 30th, December 1st, & 2nd. Voting begins December 7th and ends December 30th.

The Rules

  1. You CANNOT use a real or artificial tree as your "Base" and decorate it. Please do not

use live pine branches to construct your sculpture!

2; Use any non-perishable object to create a Christmas tree shape, decorate it

in any fashion you choose. A few examples of acceptable materials are paint, cardboard,

paper, pipe cleaners, plastic, fabric, crayons, pencils, clay, yarn etc ... .lights, garland,

ornaments, etc .... can be added. Your tree does not have to have a "theme". Please be

creative and use your imagination!

  1. Collections of Trees can be constructed on a base and attached if you wish to make

a little scene with them. Any other appropriate items can be added houses, Santa,

sleigh, animals etc ...

  1. Miniature: Tree must be 3 feet high or less.
  2. A collection of miniature trees: Trees must be 2 feet or less, maximum of 5 trees.

Fees Adults or groups: $10.00

Students or student groups: $5.00

Voting: Anyone can vote as many times as they wish. Jars will be set up in front of each entry. Each

penny placed in the jar represents one vote. Funds raised will help continue ongoing children’s

programs such as the Kids After School Art Drop-in.

The Elyria Arts Council is entering its fourth exciting year as our City begins its third century! Where the Arts thrive, communities flourish. • Here is a unique, tax-deductible way to promote your business or organization and be part of the revitalization of Downtown Elyria!

Within our Arts and Education Center we have a limited number of individual galleries that are available for either a 6-month or yearly Sponsorship. Each contains a wonderful variety of constantly rotating artwork by local artists and artisans. ,

Most everyone has seen the two Murals we have completed downtown in Pioneer Plaza, another amazing piece in the reshaping of the Downtown Landscape. Our Center is right there at the heart of it all. The volume of visitors and customers at our Center increases constantly. Your Gallery Sponsorship will guarantee your business or organization visibility in a civic minded and commercial environment.

Available Galleries and Rates

We currently have Nine Galleries available for Sponsorship. The rates are determined by the size of the Gallery and the duration of the Sponsorship.

With Sponsorship you will receive a designated central space for your business or corporate logo.

Each gallery also has space available for business cards or promotional brochures and literature.
These are the currently available Galleries and their dimensions.

Gallery # 1 is at the very front of the Center. It is 11 1/2' x 1/2' with a an 8" x 10" space for your
logo. Gallery #6 is located in the very heart of the Center. It is 18' X 4 W with an 8" x 12" central space for your logo.

Galleries 2-5 run the length of the front portion. Each is 5 1/2' X 4' with a 5" x 7" central space for your logo.

are each 15' x 6' with an 8" x 12" central area for your logo.

This beautiful and unique print was created by David Pavlak to commemorate Elyria's Bicentennial.


This special signed edition is limited to 50 prints. The first prints have been signed and framed by the artist and are now available for viewing and selection. Unframed prints are $50 and the framed range form $125-200 depending on how many mats and the frames.  There is a nice selection of choices.
