DESCRIPTION:This class is an introduction to beginner watercolor painting. You will learn how to make a wash\, control water application\, the stages of drying\, and negative space and charging. We are making a fantasy forest with embellishments using permanent ink. This class will be held Friday March 6th\, 6-8 pm. SUMMARY:Watercolor/Mixed Media Pop Art Pet Portraits Class
DESCRIPTION:Come and create using an 8×10 colored high contrast copy (from your printer) of your pet’s photo. We will trace the photo onto cotton watercolor paper using carbon paper; no drawing skills required. We will then outline your pet or other animal picture with thick black permanent ink. We will create a flat watercolor wash for the background and various shapes and shadows on your pet. After that is dry we will use cross hatching (criss cross lines) with an ultra fine tip permanent black ink pen to suggest a 3-dimensional appearance. Finally we will use white acrylic markers and gel pens to create the look and style of classic Pop Art. Class fee is $30 which includes all supplies for this 2 hour session. Please bring color copy 8×10 image. DESCRIPTION:Join us in creating whimsical watercolor multimedia doodle birds inspired by Diane Antone of Diane Antone Studio\, Friday April 17th 6-8pm. We will draw easy bird blob shapes with a circle template\, no drawing skill required. We will create a background using wet on wet and wet on dry watercolor technique to achieve soft blended edges as well as deliberate hard edges. We will learn the spatter technique and when best to apply it for desired results. Our birds will be layered with color and dimension using the wet on wet and wet on dry techniques and finally finished off with details using black permanent ink and white gel pens. DESCRIPTION:       \nIn this class we will be painting an abstract Picasso style portrait using a numbered template with predetermined features. We will roll the die and draw the corresponding numeric feature. We will concentrate on the watercolor dynamics of shading and acheieve clean washes. Your sketched portrait will be outlined with permanent ink for bold contrast. No two portraits will be alike and there will be lots of laughs as we make sense of the features we roll.  All supplies will be provided. SUMMARY:Mixed Media Watercolor Class with Jennifer
DESCRIPTION:                \nIn this loose mixed media class we will have fun exploring the wet-on-wet watercolor technique. We will use this technique to lay down the first layer of our painted collage on 6×8 watercolor paper suited nicely for a 5×7 frame. Next we will use the wet on dry technique to create contrasting details with random repetitions\, shapes\, and marks strengthening our brush control and allowing us to doodle without a fixed plan. Then we will sketch subjective doodles and shapes with a gel pen creating an objective composition. Once our composition has been mapped out\, we will paint the background\, which will be the negative space behind our subjects. Finally\, we will add details with permanent ink and acrylic paint pens which will bring our composition to life. All supplies will be provided. \nThis class will take place on Friday May 15th 6-8pm.
