SUMMARY:Watercolor/Mixed Media Pop Art Pet Portraits Class
DESCRIPTION:Come and create using an 8×10 colored high contrast copy (from your printer) of your pet’s photo. We will trace the photo onto cotton watercolor paper using carbon paper; no drawing skills required. We will then outline your pet or other animal picture with thick black permanent ink. We will create a flat watercolor wash for the background and various shapes and shadows on your pet. After that is dry we will use cross hatching (criss cross lines) with an ultra fine tip permanent black ink pen to suggest a 3-dimensional appearance. Finally we will use white acrylic markers and gel pens to create the look and style of classic Pop Art. Class fee is $30 which includes all supplies for this 2 hour session. Please bring color copy 8×10 image. DESCRIPTION:Join us in creating whimsical watercolor multimedia doodle birds inspired by Diane Antone of Diane Antone Studio\, Friday April 17th 6-8pm. We will draw easy bird blob shapes with a circle template\, no drawing skill required. We will create a background using wet on wet and wet on dry watercolor technique to achieve soft blended edges as well as deliberate hard edges. We will learn the spatter technique and when best to apply it for desired results. Our birds will be layered with color and dimension using the wet on wet and wet on dry techniques and finally finished off with details using black permanent ink and white gel pens. DESCRIPTION:       \nIn this class we will be painting an abstract Picasso style portrait using a numbered template with predetermined features. We will roll the die and draw the corresponding numeric feature. We will concentrate on the watercolor dynamics of shading and acheieve clean washes. Your sketched portrait will be outlined with permanent ink for bold contrast. No two portraits will be alike and there will be lots of laughs as we make sense of the features we roll.  All supplies will be provided. SUMMARY:Mixed Media Watercolor Class with Jennifer
DESCRIPTION:                \nIn this loose mixed media class we will have fun exploring the wet-on-wet watercolor technique. We will use this technique to lay down the first layer of our painted collage on 6×8 watercolor paper suited nicely for a 5×7 frame. Next we will use the wet on dry technique to create contrasting details with random repetitions\, shapes\, and marks strengthening our brush control and allowing us to doodle without a fixed plan. Then we will sketch subjective doodles and shapes with a gel pen creating an objective composition. Once our composition has been mapped out\, we will paint the background\, which will be the negative space behind our subjects. Finally\, we will add details with permanent ink and acrylic paint pens which will bring our composition to life. All supplies will be provided. \nThis class will take place on Friday May 15th 6-8pm. SUMMARY:Jewelry making: Bead Loom Bracelets class
DESCRIPTION:  \nIn this class we will make high quality woven seed bead bracelets. We will use Japanese glass seed beads on a bead loom and plated stainless steel jewelry componants. You will learn how to warp a loom for wefting 5 bead rows and experience the inricate yet simple art of seed bead weaving as well as the tricks of applying a bead tube clasp with a lobster claw and safety chain. Choose your own beads and color palette from a variety of finishes and colors\, creating a bracelet with a random design. All materials will be provided. This is a 3 hour class to allow ample time to warp the loom and apply the clasp. Actual weaving time is under 2 hours. \nThis class will take place on Friday June 19th 6-9pm. Cost is $40. No cancellations or refunds will be given. SUMMARY:Kid's pottery class with Hayden
DESCRIPTION:Join in the clay making fun at EAC! Two sessions of sculpting with clay will be held on Monday July 13th & 20th\, from 4:30-5:30pm and one session for glazing all work on Monday August 3rd from 4:30-5:30pm.  This class is designed for kids aged 5-12 years old. If your child has not attended kindergarten\, we ask that an adult attend to assist the child. All supplies and firings are included. Class fee is $45.00. DESCRIPTION:Join a fun Pottery class with Anne Jesse! This class is for beginners to advanced students. You will have many options to hand build multiple items including;  plates\, bowls\, mugs\, coiled vessels\, & textured garden tiles. All supplies & firings are provided. This is a fun and relaxing class! Cost for all 4 days the class meets is $150.00. We skip one week between pottery making and glazing to allow time for drying and firing of work. SUMMARY:Watercolor Mixed Media Neurographic Art Class with Jennifer
DESCRIPTION:      \nLearn this meditative art form known to calm the mind and release tension. In this class we will trace templates (or draw your own) of butterflies and/or dragonflies and progress the composition with various lines. We will then use the wet-on-wet technique to progressively lay watercolor paint down onto the various shapes created by the lines. These layers will create a seamless shadowing on the shapes to create dimension. Then we will round out the sharp angles on the various shapes created and fill in the gaps with permanent ink. The repetition of layering color and defining the shapes will help the mind to leave the chaos of worry and anxiety\, allowing you to produce a beautiful piece of artwork. This work will be created on a 6″x 9″ watercolor paper perfect for a 5″x 7″ frame. No painting or drawing experience is required.  This class will take place on Friday July 17th 6-8pm. Cost is $30 ($25 instructional fee +$5 materials fee). SUMMARY:Plein Air Painting workshop with Wayne
DESCRIPTION:Join artist Wayne Chunat in a Plein Air painting workshop. This workshop will be approximately 3 hours in length\, (rain or shine) with a 30-45 minute introduction; covering equipment to construct or purchase\, mediums\, supports\, clothing\, resources\, and the basic priciples of Plein Air Painting. The remaining time will be spent in the field painting followed by a critique. \nWeather will not be a deterrent. In the case of heavy rain and or thunderstorms\, we will seek cover. \nMediums to be addressed are: watercolor\, gouache\, and acrylic. Wayne will be working in acrylic. \nThis class will take place on Saturday July 18th 1-4pm. Cost is $35 \nAttendees are required to bring all equipment and painting materials for your preferred medium. A mimimum of 6 people are required for this class\, and a maximum of 10. \nIt is recommended that you bring only what you can carry or tote. Minimize and think small.
