SUMMARY:Mixed Media Watercolor Class with Jennifer
DESCRIPTION:                \nIn this loose mixed media class we will have fun exploring the wet-on-wet watercolor technique. We will use this technique to lay down the first layer of our painted collage on 6×8 watercolor paper suited nicely for a 5×7 frame. Next we will use the wet on dry technique to create contrasting details with random repetitions\, shapes\, and marks strengthening our brush control and allowing us to doodle without a fixed plan. Then we will sketch subjective doodles and shapes with a gel pen creating an objective composition. Once our composition has been mapped out\, we will paint the background\, which will be the negative space behind our subjects. Finally\, we will add details with permanent ink and acrylic paint pens which will bring our composition to life. All supplies will be provided. \nThis class will take place on Friday May 15th 6-8pm. Cost is $30 ($25 instructional fee +$5 materials fee). No cancellations or refunds will be given. SUMMARY:Jewelry making: Bead Loom Bracelets class
DESCRIPTION:  \nIn this class we will make high quality woven seed bead bracelets. We will use Japanese glass seed beads on a bead loom and plated stainless steel jewelry componants. You will learn how to warp a loom for wefting 5 bead rows and experience the inricate yet simple art of seed bead weaving as well as the tricks of applying a bead tube clasp with a lobster claw and safety chain. Choose your own beads and color palette from a variety of finishes and colors\, creating a bracelet with a random design. All materials will be provided. This is a 3 hour class to allow ample time to warp the loom and apply the clasp. Actual weaving time is under 2 hours. \nThis class will take place on Friday June 19th 6-9pm. Cost is $40. SUMMARY:Watercolor Mixed Media Neurographic Art Class with Jennifer
DESCRIPTION:      \nLearn this meditative art form known to calm the mind and release tension. In this class we will trace templates (or draw your own) of butterflies and/or dragonflies and progress the composition with various lines. We will then use the wet-on-wet technique to progressively lay watercolor paint down onto the various shapes created by the lines. These layers will create a seamless shadowing on the shapes to create dimension. Then we will round out the sharp angles on the various shapes created and fill in the gaps with permanent ink. The repetition of layering color and defining the shapes will help the mind to leave the chaos of worry and anxiety\, allowing you to produce a beautiful piece of artwork. This work will be created on a 6″x 9″ watercolor paper perfect for a 5″x 7″ frame. No painting or drawing experience is required.  This class will take place on Friday July 17th 6-8pm. Cost is $30 ($25 instructional fee +$5 materials fee). SUMMARY:Plein Air Painting workshop with Wayne
DESCRIPTION:Join artist Wayne Chunat in a Plein Air painting workshop. This workshop will be approximately 3 hours in length\, (rain or shine) with a 30-45 minute introduction; covering equipment to construct or purchase\, mediums\, supports\, clothing\, resources\, and the basic priciples of Plein Air Painting. The remaining time will be spent in the field painting followed by a critique. \nWeather will not be a deterrent. In the case of heavy rain and or thunderstorms\, we will seek cover. \nMediums to be addressed are: watercolor\, gouache\, and acrylic. Wayne will be working in acrylic. \nThis class will take place on Saturday July 18th 1-4pm. Cost is $35 \nAttendees are required to bring all equipment and painting materials for your preferred medium. A mimimum of 6 people are required for this class\, and a maximum of 10. \nIt is recommended that you bring only what you can carry or tote. Minimize and think small.
