Floyd Kemp, a native of Iowa, is a resident of Oberlin, Ohio. He is an artist with many talents. He currently works in acrylic creating large expressive still life paintings. He loves to play with color juxtiposition and subject arrangement. His paintings include interpretations of familiar everyday forms that are realistic and recognizable, but altered into pleasing compositions, mostly planned, to make a proper balance of forms, colors and placement.

After spending 35 years teaching and creating pottery he returned to his first passion, painting. Floyd holds degrees from The University of Northern Iowa (BA) and The University of Iowa (MA).
