In this loose mixed media class we will have fun exploring the wet-on-wet watercolor technique. We will use this technique to lay down the first layer of our painted collage on 6×8 watercolor paper suited nicely for a 5×7 frame. Next we will use the wet on dry technique to create contrasting details with random repetitions, shapes, and marks strengthening our brush control and allowing us to doodle without a fixed plan. Then we will sketch subjective doodles and shapes with a gel pen creating an objective composition. Once our composition has been mapped out, we will paint the background, which will be the negative space behind our subjects. Finally, we will add details with permanent ink and acrylic paint pens which will bring our composition to life. All supplies will be provided.

This class will take place on Friday May 15st  6-8pm. Cost is $30 ($25 instructional fee +$5 materials fee). No cancellations or refunds will be given. In the case of an unavoidable circumstance, arrangements can be made for the attendance of another class by the same instructor.
