How to Become an Artist Member of EAC

The Board of The Elyria Arts Council juries your artwork for you to become a member. We ask that you make an appointment to drop off 5 to 6 pieces of your work. Your work will stay at EAC for a few days to allow time for it to be viewed by those who jury it. Our membership fee is $45.00 per year and is renewed in January of each year. If you choose to join after June 30th the fee is $25.00 for the balance of the year. High school and college students can join for a student fee of $10.00. The Elyria Arts Council retains 35% of the sale price of your pieces. You will be responsible for setting the price for your pieces and making sure your work is properly prepared for display at EAC.

Once you have been approved for membership as a displaying artist, we will provide you with a contract and ask for membership payment. You will receive a check once a month for 65% of the sale of your work. The Elyria Arts Council collects and reports sales tax on what is sold, but all other taxes and income declarations are the responsibility of the artist. We encourage members to give classes and workshops in the medium of your choice. Any artist is also welcome to present projects during our Kid’s Art Drop-in program. Instructors for classes are asked to donate 20% of the class fee (excluding supply costs) to help cover operating expenses.
