One of Barbara’s earliest and fondest childhood memories is of her Dad taking her on “A date” to an Art Museum in Buffalo. There she saw a painting by Vincent Van Gogh. At that moment she decided she wanted to pursue Art. Eventually she received and Associate Degree in Fine and Professional Arts.
She held several jobs while raising her son Brian. When the neighborhood kids came to visit, she would often have an art project ready to keep them busy. As a Montessori and traditional preschool teacher, she was able to share her love of Art with young children.
She found she could focus on her Art more after retirement. She has found a lot of joy in her artistic explorations. She has learned to embrace and enjoy the process more than focusing on what the final product looks like. She works in several mediums including acrylic, watercolor, oil, alcohol ink, and photography. She works intuitively, doing whatever feels right as the moment presents itself. She loves to paint owls. Hence the name of her business: Night Owl Studio One.
