Borys Buzkij was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and received his Art education from The Cleveland Institute of Art and the Cooper School of Art.  After graduation he worked for American Greetings Corporation. In 1972 he decided to do Art at his own pace and on his own time. It gave him a chance to exhibit regionally and nationally. He received awards from national organizations such as the American Watercolor Society, Watercolor U.S.A., and the Butler Art Museum.

His Art is not confined to one medium or technique. He has experimented with printmaking, stone carving, watercolor and oils. Although he considers himself primarily a painter, he feels that he should experiment with other media to gain a greater perception in painting. In the past 10 years he has been using the human figure combined with architectural elements and hard edge shapes to create a surrealist effect.
