Christina has been drawing and painting in some way for as long as she can remember. She loves to paint animals in the realism style and bring them to life with a paint brush. Her favorite medium has always been oil paint, but she has recently switched to acrylic paint and has learned the techniques of acrylic painting.
Christina expands her subject matter beyond her love of painting animals with landscapes, still-life, portraits, fantasy, and architecture. She expands her style beyond realism with explorations in impressionism.
Her greatest inspiration was her high school Art teacher Mr. Cebula, known to many as “Mr. C.” Mr. Cebula taught Art at Elyria West High school and gave Christina confidence and taught her to beleive in the process. To this day she hears his words of advice about not giving up, especially in the “ugly phase” of a beginning creation.
Christina grew up in Cleveland and Elyria and now lives in LaGrange Township enjoying gardening and raising chickens. She started a Pilates studio in downtown Elyria and taught Pilates and Ballroom Dance for 13 years.
She is very close to her 4 adult children and now enjoys her 4 grandchildren. When her youngest daughter left the nest 2 years ago, she started painting again after an almost 10 year hiatus. It is very fulfilling to her to make a creation from a blank canvas and she feels it is truly fascinating to be able to stir emotion from a painting.
