Debra was born and raised in Massachusetts. She moved to Elyria in 1992. She has been a board member of The Elyria Arts Council since its inception.

She started her jewelry making creativity in 2005 by wire wrapping beach glass. She progressed into learning how to solder silver and copper. She found her passion in working with copper. She loves how copper can be easily manipulated. It can be folded, forged, and hammered.  Natural patinas can be added to copper for coloring.

It is believed that wearing items made of copper helps rebuild cartilage and assists with immunity and cardiovascular health. Copper is also considered an antioxidant and is anti-bacterial. Spiritualists believe that copper is a conductor with the ability to control spiritualist energy through individuals, crystals, auras, and the spirit world. Spiritualists also believe copper has the power to amplify thoughts in receiving and sending.

Debra loves the beauty of copper and the enjoyment she gets while working with it. She loves the creation of unique pieces!
